Introduction
CONSTAB Polyolefin Additives GmbH, a leading producer of high-quality masterbatches and compounds in Germany, a part of the Kafrit Group, successfully delivered a customer-ready, low-COF metallizable film formulation by applying AI-guided R&D using MaterialsZone. Building on a year of extensive experimental work, with experimental data systematically collected and structured in MaterialsZone, the team was able to satisfy a demanding customer request involving non-standard film thickness and extremely low friction targets within just five weeks. This rapid outcome was achieved at a stage where traditional optimization approaches had reached their limits. Through AI-guided R&D, MaterialsZone actively directed the formulation effort by recommending candidate formulations aligned with performance, regulatory, and manufacturing constraints, leading to a solution that was approved and adopted by the customer and demonstrating a faster path from development to production-ready solutions.
