Introduction
Track The Twin, a Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network, is using digital twins to study how quantum dots age and degrade, with the goal of designing more reliable materials for applications ranging from displays to photovoltaics. The consortium brings together academic and industrial partners across Europe, spanning synthesis, microscopy, spectroscopy, computation, and data infrastructure. MaterialsZone supports this collaboration by providing the shared data infrastructure needed to transform complex experimental outputs, including spectroscopy files and local analysis workflows, into structured, reusable scientific data. Through the MaterialsZone API, raw experimental files can be interpreted, structured, visualized, and shared across institutions, helping researchers compare results, preserve scientific context, and build a scalable foundation for digital twin development.
